Kathy Eileen Kerns

Kathy E. Kerns, 72, of Morgantown, passed away on July 27, 2025, unexpectedly. She was born on May 16, 1953, daughter to the late Mary & Luther Sims. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She worked for WVU for over 20 years, where she later retired. She enjoyed spending her time with family, shopping, and playing her games.

Kathy is survived by her two daughters, Janice Johns of Morgantown, and Tracy (husband Mike) Hagedorn of Morgantown; grandchildren: JD (fiancé Alyssa), Marisa (husband Chris), Hayley, Brandon, Gage, Courtney (husband Carl), Cole (wife Courtney), and Catarina; great-grandchildren: Maddox, Selene, Jackson, & Alex.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Kerns, and grandson, Aiden. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will never be forgotten.

Memorial services will be held at the Morgantown Bible Church, Brookhaven Road, Morgantown, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 3 pm.
